CheckInWithYouLA: WhiteFlag Partners with Hayley Hasselhoff to Support Mental Health Amidst Los Angeles Wildfires

At WhiteFlag, our mission has always been to provide accessible mental health support, especially in times of crisis. In light of the recent wildfires devastating the Los Angeles area, we're proud to announce our partnership with Hayley Hasselhoff, an actress, model, podcast host, and passionate mental health advocate, to launch the #CheckInWithYouLA initiative.

Who is Hayley Hasselhoff?

Hayley Hasselhoff is more than just a public figure—she's a trailblazer in the mental health space. As the daughter of iconic actor David Hasselhoff, Hayley has carved out her own path in both the entertainment world and the mental health advocacy community. She is best known for her role as a model and actress, but her work goes beyond her career. As the host of the "Redefine You" podcast, Hayley brings awareness to important mental health topics, offering conversations that inspire and empower others to embrace self-love and challenge stigmas.

Hayley has been open about her own struggles with mental health, using her platform to amplify voices that often go unheard. Her advocacy work focuses on promoting body positivity and self-acceptance, and she continues to be a driving force in creating spaces where individuals can freely talk about their mental health journeys.

The #CheckInWithYouLA Initiative

The #CheckInWithYouLA initiative is part of a larger campaign that Hayley Hasselhoff originally launched in 2020, called CheckInWithYou encouraging people to check in with themselves and each other. In light of the Los Angeles wildfires, this initiative takes on new meaning. With the devastation caused by the fires—widespread evacuations, property loss, and overwhelming emotional distress—we recognized an urgent need for accessible mental health resources for those affected.

WhiteFlag’s specialized wildfire filter allows users to connect with peers who have experienced similar trauma. Whether it's anxiety, depression, or PTSD caused by the wildfires, the filter helps users find others who can relate to their specific experiences. This partnership with Hayley Hasselhoff helps create a safe, anonymous space for individuals to share their feelings, find comfort, and build a sense of community, no matter how far apart they may be physically.

Why the Partnership Matters

Hayley’s support of this initiative comes at a critical time. The emotional impact of natural disasters like the Los Angeles wildfires can be long-lasting, affecting individuals and families in ways that aren’t always visible. Research has shown that a significant number of people exposed to such disasters may develop mental health issues, but they often don’t seek help due to stigma or lack of access to resources.

By partnering with Hayley and using the WhiteFlag app, individuals can receive free, anonymous, peer to peer, mental health support from others who understand what they're going through. This collaboration aims to reduce stigma surrounding mental health, make mental health support more accessible, and help people feel less isolated during such traumatic experiences.

How to Get Involved

If you or someone you know is affected by the Los Angeles wildfires, the #CheckInWithYouLA initiative is here to help. The WhiteFlag app is free to download and offers real-time, anonymous connections with others who are experiencing similar challenges. You can learn more about the initiative and access support by visiting www.whiteflagapp.com/checkinwithyoula.

Through the #CheckInWithYouLA initiative, WhiteFlag and Hayley Hasselhoff are sending a powerful message: You're not alone, and it's okay to ask for help. Together, we can weather the storm—mentally, emotionally, and physically.
