We may not always know what to call it, or how to best put into words how it feels, but we know something feels off and that we might be slipping mentally. We begin to lose joy in the things that make our lives worth living. The anxiety for tomorrow’s unknown cripples any attempts at enjoying the moment today. Regret from yesterday hangs over us like a dark cloud, even if we didn’t do anything “wrong.” Grief feels as though it may never end. Or maybe, for you, experiencing a mental illness is less obvious. For some, you’re suddenly struck with fits of emotion. Crying, panicking, and thinking that you’re actually dying are things that can sneak up on us when we don’t pay attention to our mental health.
We all go through things. Some of us face trauma and “feel fine.” At least for now. One thing that I have learned on this journey is that what you don’t transform, you transmit. We may not always feel the effects, but when you go through something “traumatic” as a conscious being, our minds do not forget. And the best way that I’ve found to process life is by talking with someone who understands what you’re going through.
I created WhiteFlag so that you could find the connection that you need, 24 hours a day, for free. Just peers, without a script, not paid or trained, here to help because they know what it’s like to struggle. And, after 18 months of work, the app is officially live!
Nobody deserves to struggle alone. Once you download WhiteFlag, you’ll never feel alone in your fight again. So, join others who are struggling just like you, in a safe space where you’ll feel free to heal, meet others who understand what you’re going through, and connect, without judgment.
You are not alone, and I can prove it. Download the WhiteFlag App now, share it with your friends and loved ones, and, when you’re ready, support someone else on the app who has raised their WhiteFlag. As I’ve learned, helping people heal, helps me heal. And it will help you heal, too.
Good vibes on your healing journey.
